Bye-Bye, Crib

There comes a time in every toddler’s life when they must leave the crib and sleep in a big bed. Bittersweet as that may be for everyone involved, it’s all a part of growing up! But in Bye-Bye, Crib a little boy and his best friend, Baby Kitty, aren’t quiet ready to make the move. What if they get lost in the sheets? What if the covers fall off and they get frostbite? Sleeping in a big bed can be scary! Can Mom and Dad convince them that it isn’t so bad after all?

This inspiring story from a #1 New York Times bestselling author paired with funny illustrations reminicent of the children’s books of yore will comfort and amuse even the most timid toddlers and their parents as they take these first big steps together! (Ages 2-4)

Awful! It might be a classic, but it's not for today's kids

This book has nothing funny about it. It has scary illustrations that introduce frightening ideas that my little ones probably wouldn't have thought of on their own. I love the old fashioned story and illustrations, but this is simply not a book for little children nowadays. I donated my copy to the library!

bye bye crib - scary illustrations

I realize the point of this book is to show children that there is no reason to be afraid of e "big bed" but I felt that the illustrations of the bed as a monster might be too scary for my son. I decided not to show him the book as I didn't want to plant those ideas in his head. Maybe he would have been fine, and enjoyed it but I wasn't willing to take that chance. I recommend looking at the book and making your own decision before purchasing it.

This book was perfect for our son who was getting ready to get a big boy bed. Once he got into his big boy bed, he kept talking about the book and continued to want to read it at bedtime.
