The Bears in the Bed and the Great Big Storm

It’s a dark and stormy night and Baby Bear, Little Bear and Young Bear are scared! With so much grumbling and rumbling and rattling and scratching there must be monsters outside. So one by one they climb into bed with their mom and dad. But when the lightning flashes and the thunder crashes and the lights go out and someone (or something!) knocks at the door, Daddy Bear doesn’t feel so brave. Luckily, this family of scaredy-bears is in for a big surprise when they find out what’s really causing the commotion!

Illustrations that are just as cute as can be and a gentle, reassuring message make this the perfect bedtime story to give scaredy-bears and scaredy-kids alike the courage they need to weather any storm. (Ages 2-4)

Became a quick favorite

My 3 year old daughter loves this book. I bought this right around the time she started showing fear of storms. She thinks it is very funny that the Daddy Bear hides under the bed. We also use the book to talk about how sometimes when things seem scary, they are not (like Moose showing up--he just needed a place to sleep). The only quirk of this book, and why I did not give it 5 stars, is that Mommy Bear is called Mommy but Daddy Bear is only called Bear. I simply change the words, but the difference seemed an odd choice to me. Either way, I highly recommend this book.

My kids LOVE this book!

I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old. They both love this book! It is one they ask to read over and over again! They like to make the sound effects for the wind and thunder and even like to scream in mock fright when the door bangs open and bear dives under the bed! I keep it handy so we never have to look to find it! I like that I never have to listen to an argument over which book to read. I pull this one out and they are both happy!
