One of the most wonderful things about The Apple Pie That Papa Baked are the endearing ink illustrations by artist Jonathan Bean, inspired by the family orchard where he picked fruit as a child. You may especially love his drawing of the joyful animals sharing the pie that papa baked—and kids will, too! This is his first children’s book, but hopefully it won't be his last.
And then, of course, there’s the story itself. Lauren Thompson, the New York Times bestselling author of the celebrated Little Quack series, crafts a charming tale about a girl helping her papa make a pie. As children read, they'll love seeing where “the apples, juicy and red, that went in the pie, warm and sweet, that Papa baked” came from! (Ages 2-4)

I thought this book would be really good after reading the reviews, but I was wrong. Its just repeating the same stuff over and over, the pictures wernt great and my son was bord with it after the second page!

This book is one of my 2 year old grandson's favorites. The repeating story line allows him to anticipate the next page, and to get involved in the reading.
The illustrations are unique, and we search to find something new each time we read it.

While very simple, I thought this book was enjoyable and my two year old boy liked the pictures.

It was an 'ok' book. Got a little too lengthy and my daughter was losing interest, but the illustrations are very pretty and unique, which she really liked.

My daughter enjoyed having this book read to her, and my husband even commented that he really enjoyed reading this one and liked the pictures as well. I would especially recommend it to anyone with children interested drawing and art.
