Ever since the extraordinary events of Inkspell, when the enchanted book Inkheart drew Meggie and her father, Mo, into its chapters, life in the Inkworld has been more tragic than magical. But are the tides about to turn in the final tale of the captivating trilogy?
The fire-eater Dustfinger is dead, having sacrificed his life for his apprentice Farid, and now, under the rule of the evil Adderhead, the fairytale land is in chaos. Even Elinor, left behind in the real world, believes her family to be lost—lost between the covers of a book. Facing the threat of eternal winter, Mo inks a dangerous deal with death itself. There yet remains a faint hope of hanging the cursed story—if only he can fill its pages fast enough. (Ages 9-12)

I bought the 3 book series for my 11 year old niece for her birthday. She loved them. I ended reading them myself and thought they were excellent. I would recommend these books for anybody who is a fan of fantasy, magic, and the unbelievable.

I loved all three books in this series. Even though they were written with 9 to 12 year old kids in mind, I was completely caught up in the story, and I am much older than 12 years old! Who wouldn't want to suddenly find themselves in the world of their favorite book? Every page was enjoyable, these books have earned a spot on my favorite bookshelf!

Like the sequel, the third installment drags a bit, but only in the beginning. The second half held all the promise of Inkheart and then died. It was all tied up neatly with little resolution to the tension that had so craftily been built up between the main characters. Otherwise, it was still an excellent read.
If I had one complaint about the series, it would be that the Inkheart world followed the typical fantasy formula: the presense of magic meant the absence of developed culture and/or social stucture. But that's a pet peave of mine.

I really love the Ink Series. I sometimes wish I could write my life story and read myself into its pages. Cornelia Funke is a great author. I hope she keeps writing.

The whole series was outstanding. Very nicely wrapped up in Inkdeath. Wish the series could go on.
