Incredible illustrations add an exciting new dimension to the second installment of Eoin Colfer’s bestselling fantasy adventure series. This time around, all the elements that made us fall in love with The Arctic Incident in the first place are captured in eye-popping color. Captain Holly Short’s daring gunfight with goblins that ends in an explosion of fire and ice is awesome. Then there’s the moment teenaged criminal mastermind Artemis Fowl discovers that his missing father is still alive, and…well, just SEE it for yourself! Colfer teamed up with comic book artist Giovanni Rigano and author Andrew Donkin (of DC Comics’ Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight fame) to create this graphic novel and the result is pure fun. My third graders love the two Artemis Fowl graphic novels that I have purchased. They can not keep their hands off of them. They often read them in pairs during DEAR because they can not wait to have it.
